Spring Creek Baptist Church
Weatherford, Texas ~ U.S.A.
We are a rural Southern Baptist congregation organized in 1881 based on the local church concept. We have a strong desire to serve God to the fullest and minister to a rapidly growing community.
The congregation has a diverse background. Some members have lived their entire lives in this community, as did their parents. Other members actually live outside the geographic community but have found a home here at Spring Creek. Even though the church is in a rural setting, few of the members are exclusively farmers or ranchers. Most are employed in the nearby growing town of Weatherford approximately seven miles to the north or in the Fort Worth area 25 miles to the east. A common love for the church and each other binds the congregation together here at Spring Creek.
Sunday school, morning and evening worship services are structured along the traditional Southern Baptist doctrine. We currently have an active Nursery ministry as well as a strong Children’s ministry. In addition, we have a growing Youth ministry led by a Youth Minister who is a paid staff member. Spring Creek has a heart for missions evident by our support of international, national, state and local missions. We have instituted a ministry known as “Because We Care” at Spring Creek to help church members and individuals in the community with financial assistance when needed along with general help such as mowing, painting, moving, or other tasks for those needing assistance. In addition, we financially and actively support a local Weatherford organization known as the Center of Hope which ministers to homeless and underprivileged individuals. We also support a growing Youth Camp known as Summitt Ministries financially as well as assisting with volunteers annually for new construction. The camp is located on Canyon Lake approximately 30 miles north of San Antonio.
The facilities of Spring Creek Baptist church are not utilized to their fullest potential as yet, but are totally debt free. The sanctuary with a seating capacity of approximately 400 was built in 1981. The Family Life Center was constructed in 1988 and consists of 21classrooms, two offices, library, nursery, stage, kitchen, two dressing rooms and a full size gymnasium with basketball, tennis and volleyball courts.
